Check the connected source and its errors before creating duplicate task connections.
Before you start
Use the account and project that should contain the tasks. An empty filtered board is different from a failed connection.
Identify the affected task source and check its configuration. This demo screenshot illustrates the connection form; it does not represent a successful external login.
Step by step
Open Tasks and identify the selected source. Personal tasks do not require an external tracker connection.
If setup is incomplete, open the source configuration and review its required fields. Use the tracker’s actual account and project details.
For authentication or permission errors, check that the connected account still has access to the intended tracker project.
If connection succeeds but tasks seem missing, clear restrictive board filters and verify the selected project or source.
Retry refresh after addressing the cause, then check whether the expected task appears. Read any new error instead of assuming the old failure still applies.
If the issue persists, report the tracker type, failed action, time, and redacted error. Keep passwords, tokens, and private task content out of the report.
What to expect
You identify whether the issue is setup, account access, filtering, or refresh rather than silently duplicating sources.
Troubleshooting and useful details
The screenshot shows the connection form, not proof of a successful external login. Do not enter a different account’s credentials merely to make the board populate. Existing task links may refer to a different source than the currently selected board.
