Choose the conversation type that matches the amount of action you want.
Before you start
Quick Ask and Project Talk are useful for understanding and discussion. Use an agent when you want implementation work.
Quick Ask is suited to a focused question with an explicit project or General scope. Use an agent when you are ready to request implementation and review its changes.
Step by step
Choose Quick Ask for a focused question. Project scope uses the active project; General scope is for questions that do not need repository context.
Choose Project Talk for a read-only conversation about the project, including spoken discussion after voice setup.
Choose New Agent for implementation, ongoing investigation, or a plan you intend to turn into code.
Use Plan mode when the implementation approach needs agreement first. Use Band when you explicitly want a lead to coordinate delegated assignments.
What to expect
The conversation starts with a scope and level of action that match your intent.
Troubleshooting and useful details
Quick Ask’s Start agent action prepares an unsent draft. Review that draft before sending; asking a question alone does not authorize implementation. Project Talk audio processing and coding-provider text processing have different data-handling scopes.
