Use a coding provider you already have access to, then choose it for new work.
Before you start
Choro supports Codex, Claude Code, and OpenCode configurations. Provider availability depends on your local installation and sign-in state.
AI generation settings choose defaults for new agents. The selected provider must already be installed and signed in; Quick Ask and quick generation have separate defaults.
Step by step
During setup, select the providers you use and read each status: Connected, Sign in needed, Not installed, or Status unavailable.
Complete installation or authentication through that provider’s own supported flow when needed. Return to Choro after signing in.
Open Settings → AI generation. Under New agents, choose the provider, model, and available effort level you want as your default.
Open New Agent in a project and check the composer’s provider and model before sending a small request.
What to expect
The agent starts with your selected provider; future new agents use your saved default unless you override it.
Troubleshooting and useful details
Changing the model does not repair an expired login. Follow the sign-in guidance shown in Choro, then retry the failed request. Settings for Quick Ask and Quick generation are separate from New agents.
