Read project files and make focused edits in the Code workspace.
Before you start
Select the intended project before opening Code. If you are working in Solo, confirm the active working copy so you inspect the correct files.
The demo’s HTML source is open in Code. Use the Files tree to select a project file and the editor’s save state to check that an edit has been saved.
Step by step
Open Code from the project toolbar and choose a file in Files. Start with a familiar README or source file to confirm the folder is correct.
Read the surrounding code before editing. Use Find in current view for text inside the open file, and project Search when you need to locate another file or work record.
Make a small, coherent edit and check the editor’s save state before switching to a run or review step.
Use Git or Changed Files to inspect the diff rather than relying only on how the final file looks. Confirm that no unrelated text changed.
Run the relevant check or preview for the behavior you changed. Return to the file or ask an agent for a focused follow-up if the result is wrong.
What to expect
You can trace a request to its source files and inspect the actual change. The file tree and editor remain scoped to the selected project or working copy.
Troubleshooting and useful details
If files look unfamiliar, check project selection and Solo scope first. If a file is missing, verify that it is within the opened folder. Avoid editing generated output when the project expects changes in source files.
