Save preferences that should apply across your projects.
Before you start
Choose Global only for information that is useful beyond one repository. Keep architecture, project paths, and local run commands in project memories.
Global scope holds preferences that apply across projects. This demo entry asks for results first and remaining checks afterward.
Step by step
Open Settings → Brain → Memories and choose Global.
Choose New memory. Write one clear preference, such as “Explain the result first, then list any checks that remain.”
Choose Save and check the resulting row. Global scope should be visible so you do not mistake the preference for a fact about the selected repository.
Use Pin for an especially useful preference and On/Off to control whether the saved memory is included.
Use Edit when a preference changes. Revisit the list periodically so outdated instructions do not conflict with your current expectations.
What to expect
Enabled global memories provide shared context across projects. A disabled memory remains saved for later use.
Troubleshooting and useful details
Add global preferences explicitly in Settings. The project memory tool available to agents creates project memories, not global ones. Keep each entry self-contained and avoid including project-specific secrets or paths in a preference intended for every project. A memory is guidance for future work, not an automatic correction to existing conversations.
