Open a static HTML page from your project without starting a development server.
Before you begin
The file must be suitable for direct local viewing. An application that requires a build step or backend still needs its normal run workflow.
The demo index.html is actually open from a local file URL. The conversation confirms the path, and Preview displays the rendered page.
Steps
Select the project containing the HTML file and confirm its location in Code.
Ask the project agent to open the specific file in Preview, for example: “Open docs/demo.html in Preview so I can review it.”
Inspect the rendered page and check that local styles, images, and scripts behave as expected.
Return to the same preview from another conversation in the project when needed. Choro keeps file and URL preview records at project scope.
If the file depends on server behavior, use the project’s documented local server instead and open its running URL.
What to expect
A supported local HTML file appears in the same Preview panel used for running pages. The request identifies an existing file rather than asking the agent to invent a new one.
Troubleshooting
If a page is blank or missing resources, confirm the file path and its relative asset paths. Some browser behavior differs for local files; using the appropriate development server can be necessary. The screenshot shows the actual demo index.html loaded from a file URL, with its local path confirmed in the conversation.
