Choose when Choro should notify you about agent decisions and completion.
Before you start
Open Settings → Notifications. App preferences and macOS notification permission are separate: both affect what you receive.

Step by step
Configure notifications for questions and approvals so you know when an agent needs a decision. These notifications are suppressed while you are already viewing the relevant conversation.
Choose the completion behavior shown in Settings: Never, Background, or Always. Background is useful when you want completion alerts while working elsewhere.
Choose the sound behavior separately. Completion notifications are silent; do not assume every visual notification will produce a sound.
Check Choro’s notification permission in macOS if app settings are enabled but alerts never appear.
Use a real small task to observe the chosen behavior. Return to the conversation to read the result or respond to the decision rather than treating a notification as the full context.
What to expect
Choro’s notifications match the type of attention you want. The conversation remains the source of the actual question, plan, and outcome.
Troubleshooting and useful details
If an alert appears missing, first check whether that conversation was already open, whether completion is set to Background or Never, and whether macOS permits notifications. Repeatedly restarting the same agent task will not repair notification permission.
