Save reusable instructions as a Riff and select them in an agent request.
Before you start
Use a Riff for a repeatable way of working, such as reviewing acceptance criteria. Keep the specific task in the request instead of baking one project’s temporary requirement into the reusable instructions.
The demo’s Acceptance Check Riff defines a repeatable review workflow. Its description helps identify it in the slash menu; its full instructions guide the selected request.
Step by step
Open Settings → Skills → Choro Riffs and choose New Riff.
Enter a recognizable Name and a short Description. The description helps you identify the Riff in the slash menu.
Write the full workflow in Instructions. For a review Riff, specify what to inspect, how to report gaps, and whether it should change files.
If you use Generate with AI, first provide the name and description, then review the generated instructions before saving.
Choose Save Riff. Confirm that it appears in the list and is Enabled.
Return to an agent composer, type a slash followed by the Riff name, and choose the entry labeled Riff. The selected Riff appears as a chip; its instructions are kept out of the visible request text.
Add the actual task and any relevant references, review the configuration, and send when ready. Return to Settings to edit the Riff when the reusable workflow changes.
What to expect
The saved Riff is available across projects and supplies reusable guidance when selected. The request still needs to explain the specific outcome you want.
Troubleshooting and useful details
The demo’s Acceptance Check Riff asks for a comparison against requirements and a report of remaining checks. A Riff supplies instructions; it does not change the agent’s provider permissions or guarantee that its checks pass. If it is missing from the slash menu, check its name and Enabled state. Bandmates can also link Riffs through their Skills configuration.
